helps locate services and programs for older people.
- Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) - links to
fifty-seven Alzheimer's disease associations throughout the world, most
in developing countries. The site lists information about AD (for the
person with AD and the caregiver - in English and in 25+ languages.) It
also contains information on the global impact of Alzheimer's, as well
as other activities of ADI.
- American Association of
Homes and Services for the Aging - Trade organization for
non-profit skilled nursing homes and other aging services. Includes tips
on choosing facilities and services, a searchable directory and on-line
bookstore.

Geriatrics Society - The organization of health care providers
is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all older adults.
They develop, implement and advocate for programs in patient care,
research, professional and public education, and public policy.

Parkinson's Disease Association -
American Parkinson's Disease Association is a non-profit, voluntary
health organization dedicated to research, advocacy, information and
support on Parkinson's disease.
- American Physical
Therapy Association: Section on Geriatrics - This web site
targeted for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and
students who are committed to providing quality care for geriatric
clients contains information on the latest publications, careers in
physical therapy and aging, and health and geriatric issues.
- American Society on Aging
- Researchers, practitioners, educators, business people, and policymakers
are members of this professional association. The American Society on
Aging offers publications, education, programming, and state of the art
information and training resources.
- Gerontological Society
of America - This society promotes the scientific study of
aging. They disseminate gerontological
research and knowledge to researchers, to practitioners, and to decision
and opinion makers.
- National Alzheimer's Association - The
Alzheimer's Association is an excellent source for information, support
and assistance on issues related to Alzheimer's disease and related
disorders. Links to local chapters may be found on the site.
- National
Archive of Computerized Data on Aging - This archival project acquires, preserves and makes available electronic
data relevant to gerontological research. It
is funded by the National Institute on Aging.

of Professional Geriatric Care Managers - Geriatric Care
Managers is a non-profit, professional organization of practitioners
whose goal is the advancement of dignified care for the elderly and
their families. Members are committed to maximizing the independence and
autonomy of elders while striving to ensure that the highest quality and
most cost-effective health and human services are appropriately used.
- National Council on the Aging (NCOA) - An
association of organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting the
dignity and self-determination of older adults, the National Council on
the Aging provides education and training, publications, research and
development, community services, employment programs, coalition
building, public policy and advocacy.
- National Stroke
Association - National Stroke Association provides information on
stroke prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and research updates.
- Well Spouse Foundation: An
Association of Spousal Caregivers - The Well Spouse Foundation
is a national not-for-profit membership organization which gives support
to husbands, wives and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled.
Services include; a bi-monthly newsletter, mutual aid support groups,
letter writing support groups, an annual conference, along with other
regional and weekend meetings around the country.
