families. Founded in 1980, the Brain Injury Association has 47 chartered
state affiliates and support groups across the nation.
- Brain Injury Interdiscipinary Special Interest Group of the
American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (BI-ISIG to ACRM)
- A very active interdisciplinary group of professionals who all have a
primary interest in the field of brain injury rehabilitation. The group
has developed rehab guidelines for brain injury adopted by CARF,
Guidelines of Cognitive Rehabilitation, proposed definitions of Mild
TBI, and published treatises on Outcomes in Brain Injury Rehab. (Note:
