Hello!
I am looking to go to school for psychology. I have already rec'd my B.S. in Biology. I am very drawn to the mental health field and am very interested in the brain. Since i have my degree in Biology, i thought that maybe i should take a Biological approach to psychology..what are some options for someone like me? If i go for masters in psychology, will it be more difficult since I was a biology major as an undergrad? I plan on going to school this fall for some psychology..but i need help understanding my options. Can anyone help me?
Thank you! Very Happy

I am currently finishing up my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a neuropsychology emphasis. I was a Biochemistry undergaduate. Used my undergrad degree to help me develop a dissertation that uses both pharmacological/physiological measures and neuropsychological measures. That has been very exciting for me!

When I started my doctoral degree the most challenging thing for me was to learn the terms and jargon used by psychologists. I think my undergad degree prepared me for graduate training in psychology. I was able to do as well as my classmates who all had psychology degrees.

I find that psychology has many options when it comes to health/biological/neurological specialization. So... explore your options and think about what you would like to see yourself doing in the next 15 years.

Good luck!
