I am searching for automated software which measures only working memory. Any suggestions ? Bill Cook M.D., Ph.D.

Looking for one test may be appropriate or not depending on the population being studied and the diagnostic differential. Working memory may be auditory or visual, and within those modalities different components and demands exist. A good presentation on computerized neuropsychological measures and the complexities of test selection by Dr. Schoenberg can be found on the Carter-Jenkins Center website:

Ive used the Computerized Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT), but rarely, as it tends to be overwhelming to many patients. Of course it measures only auditory working memory, but it has some neat features.
