Hi Everybody, I need help...I have so many questions and having doubts about if I'm doing my research right. I'm planning on appliyng to grad school this year, and I definely go for cognition or neuropsychology ....However I have some doubts..... What's the difference between cognition and neuropsychology or neuroscience??..How can I know wich program is good or which one is not so good???? To how many schools I should apply in order to be sure that at least one is going to accept me?? 3 sounds good?? or is too much?? I have experience helping legal psych students from my University in research and my GPA is 3.55. I would like to apply to a good program ( anyway , I'm not sure wich one is good...Is out there a racking or somenthing??) I'm scare that I may not get accepted. If somebody has any information that may help me I would apreciated a lot!!! Thank you!!!

Well first you have to ask yourself whether you'd like to focus on research or the clinical application of research in graduate school. What are your long term goals? If you would like to be a professor or scientist, you should apply to cognitive psychology or neuroscience programs. If you'd rather work with patients, clinical neuropsychology may be a better fit. Doing research on different graduate programs is a difficult task because you may not find exactly what you're looking for. I've just gone through the process and am still not sure if I applied to the "right" schools. The only way you can really know if it's the right program is once you actually start. If you're afraid you may not get accepted, I would apply to more than 3 schools. The more options you have, the better.
