Hi All,
I'm a graduate student in clinical psych planning to apply for internship in the coming fall. I obviously don't have a ton of time left to get practicum hours, but at this point I'm wondering how to prioritize my time. I don't plan on doing much/any psychotherapy in my future career (post-training), so I'm wondering how much effort I should put into getting clinical hours doing psychotherapy, as opposed to adding to my already much more substantial assessment hours. It seems that most neuropsych internships have rotations in other (non-neuropsych) work; will they be expecting me to have a whopping huge amount of therapy hours even if I plan to become a neuropsychologist? Any information, advice, speculation, or idle chatter is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark |
