Position: The Neuropsychology Area of the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida is seeking applicants for a two-year appointment as a Clinical Neuropsychology Post Doctoral Fellow (adult specialty; 18 and older). The fellowship meets Houston conference guidelines, and is preparatory for meeting eligibility requirements for board certification with ABPP/ABCN. We are recruiting for two positions (both are two year appointments), with part of each position sponsored by the Institute on Aging and the Department of Psychiatry, University of Florida. The Neuropsychology Service is housed in a free-standing clinic (http://chp.phhp.ufl.edu/services/psychology-clinic/) that has close programmatic interactions with the UF Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Trauma, and other medical/surgical departments as part of UF and Shands Hospital’s comprehensive care programs (https://ufandshands.org/). Experiences will also be acquired with psychiatric conditions (Tourettes, OCD), TBI (including acute care trauma service), vascular disorders, multiple sclerosis, legal cases, and pre-post operative cognitive evaluations for cardiac and non-cardiac surgeries. A secondary goal is for each trainee to acquire mentored clinical supervision experiences; i.e., postdoctoral fellows will provide mentored supervision to varying levels of graduate and intern trainees.

Available Didactic Experiences: Some of the most popular experiences include weekly pathology brain cuttings, weekly meetings from the Center for Neuropsychological Studies, UF and UF/North-Florida VA Neurology Grand Rounds, UF&Shands dementia case conference, and clinical case/research discussions within the Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration. Post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to assist with Wada administration and interpretation, observe Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) lead implantation, and observe surgeries associated with common patient referrals (e.g., left ventricular assist device placement).

Research Opportunities: The fellowship is a primary clinical position, but previous trainees have enjoyed many research opportunities and publications with UF faculty.

Stipend and Benefits: $40,000 1st year; $41,500 2nd year; Health insurance, 13 days paid vacation and up to 13 days sick leave per year.
