Primary Care Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship

The University of Mississippi Medical Center's Department of Family Medicine is accepting applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology/behavioral medicine. Description

This fellowship prepares psychologists for careers in academic health centers by providing supervised clinical, teaching, and research experiences. Fellows provide outpatient clinical services in a Family Medicine residency training primary care clinic and receive inpatient consultation experience at a 500-bed tertiary care community hospital. Fellows are actively involved in the didactic training and teaching of Family Medicine residents and other trainee groups. Scholarly activities include authorship opportunities and independent or established research with a focus on behavioral interventions within primary care settings. During the fellowship, individuals are supported in their work towards licensure; EPPP study materials are provided as well as protected examination preparation time.


Compensation


Fellows' stipends are $39,300 (first year) and $47,800 (second year) with liberal benefits (health insurance; retirement; personal, educational, and professional leave; and 10 holidays).


Eligibility


Candidates should have completed or be near completion of their doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited program in clinical or counseling psychology, including the completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
