I am wondering if the APA or any other association has published environmental standards for neuropsychological testing that establishes rules for a quiet and comfortable testing environment. If there are distractions in the testing environment, how are the distractions weighed when validating or invalidating test results. If specific published standards exist, where can I find them and are they posted somewhere on the web? If there are published standards, are they generally agreed upon by the profession?

Thank you for any assistance,

Many standardized tests and relevant texts have general guidelines, but there is no strict law as to the environment. It is generally accepted that testing is most valid in a quiet, temperate room. If you have to use a broom closet, you use a broom closet, but you take into consideration that the normative sample had more breathing room.
