|
I am a 37 year old brain tumor survivor- grade one astrocytoma in the fourth ventricle. The surgery was successful and I am quite happy to be alive. I had surgery in Feb 2001 and have been diagnosed with impaired recall (Neuropsychologist in the fall of 2001).
Since the resection, I have experienced memory recall issues that seem to predominately affect my super short term memory. (i.e. Did I just turn off the oven?) Additionally, I have problems occasionally with the 'wrong words' coming out- ususally it's just one word in a sentence.
My question is simple: Has anyone ever seen a fourth ventricle-area brain surgery patient regain recall abilities roughly equivalent to pre-surgery levels? (I formerly had a highly superior memory - borderline total recall, currently it is probably slightly above average.)
Thank you in advance for your response |
