I have a discussion question due for my psych class, I know a little about the subject but i would like some more points of view. Here's the question...

How did phrenology contribute to modern day neuropsychology?

Well I'm going to try to answer this right off the top of my head. I am not sure when phrenology was popular but I think it was during the eighteenth century. It is trying to identify and categorize personality and cognitions through the shape of the skull. The postive contribution of this lost art is that it proposed that the brain is segmented into different regions with correspondingly different functions. It was the first attempt to localize psychological characteristics on the brain. Hope this helps.
