Hi guys!
I recently discovered your site, and I must say it's been very helpful to me during my "neuropsychology exploration." I give props to all the organizers and contributors! Here's my question: Is board ABPP/APCN certification important when considering a clinical psychology program with a neuropsychology emphasis? Will the absence of it make me less marketable after graduation? I noticed it's one of the criteria in the APA listing of neuropsychology programs. |

Board certification is for individual professionals, not programs. A qualified professional can take an exam and become certified by ABCN or whichever board. You should just be looking for a program that's APA-approved. I would be curious to find out what APA source listed it as a criterion for neuropsych programs--unless I'm misunderstanding the question. _________________ Lee Ashendorf, Ph.D.
