My child was born 6 weeks premature and is now 2 and a half and still not yet walking. She only started to crawl at 18 months. She has been in physical and occupational therapy since she turned one, but progress has been slow or non-existent. Noregression though. Saw neurologists and had MRIs done but all came back normal. I am thinking there has to be something else there, but no one has any answers. Anyone have any ideas or know of any farmland in the chicago area? None of the doctors we have been to have seen such a delay.

We see a Neurodevelopmental pediatrician. You can also see a pediatric neurologist.

She is getting OT and PT from Early Intervention. How is her speech? Is she talking?

Check for verbal or global dyspraxia. A website www.apraxia-kids.org is a good website. Some muscle tone disorders improve upon therapy, others types are degenerative. Kids with dyspraxia need 8 hours a day of therapy.

When she turns 3, you can have her evaluated by the Child Study Team in your local school district. They have a preschool disabled program and she can continue services there.

I hope you can find out what the problem is so she gets enough therapy to help her.
