Smile Hello, I am at a crossroads in my career and so I am wondering is there opportunity for laboratory research as a neuropsychologist or is this more the domain of neuroscience? Thanks

Helen,

Sorry if this reply is a little late, but I'd say of course there is the opportunity for laboratory research. Which type of lab research you're interested in is what will determine your career path.

If you're looking to study neural pathways or neuropharmacology or the rat nervous system, then stick with neuroscience. Experimental neuropsychology is definitely a significant field, though, since research is critical to neuropsychology. If you're just interested in doing lab research as opposed to clinical work, that's definitely a possibility, it all depends on what kind of lab research you're looking to do.
