I'd like to elicit discussion or information regarding the feasibility and appropriateness of using SPECT ROI average pixel intensity values, instead of ROI relative ratio measurements (i.e., ROI average pixel intensity value / cerebellum pixel intensity value). Part of the problem we are having in our data is the cerebellum pixel intensity is changing over time in our longitudinal analyses, suggesting that the SPECT ROI ratio comparisons are "washing out" any main effect for time. On the other hand, we have been told that using just the ROI average pixel intensity values is subject to error and are not very reliable.

Any suggestions or wisdom on the subject would be most welcomed.

Sincerely,
Jeff Browndyke, Ph.D.

To Dr.Browndyke,

Im a Psych. major in a state university and just interested on the research you're doing on NeuroImaging. If you can, can you provide a website link to you research on this subject/program, so I can better get a complete knowledge on this particular study. Thank you. Smile
