I am curious as to whether my pre-doctoral training will effect my ability to get post-doc positions. More specifically, if I get a phd in developmental psychology would I still be eligible for a neuropsych post doc position?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

There are specific requirements for a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology.
I recommend checking out the powerpoint about training:
www.div40.org/pdf/INS_2007_Training_and_Board_Cert.ppt
You will find the requirements listed in that ppt.
The main thing you need is a good clinical internship with some neuropsychology (ideally at least 50% time) experience in order to be competitive for a post-doc in neuropsychology.
I hope that helps,
